Google Chrome is more than just a web browser; it can be a powerful instructional tool for teachers and students. With many helpful extensions, you can promote creativity, increase productivity, and cater to the needs of the user to cultivate an environment of learning. 


Check out the extensions below. Extension name will take you to that product's web store. Freemium delegates that this product has free features, but premium additions at a cost.

Google Chrome Extensions

Mote: Mote is a great extension to use for accommodations or modifications in the classroom. Allows you to voice comment on Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, and Classroom up to 30 seconds on the free version. Freemium

Speech to Text: An easy-to-use speech synthesis and recognition tool for your browser. Free

Read&Write: Provides support in reading from text-to-speech, dictionaries, and word prediction.  Freemium

Read Aloud: Text-to-speech tool that allows changes to reading speed, voice, and pitch with shortcut keys available. Free

OpenDyslexic: Overrides all font on a website to increase readability for people with dyslexia. Free

Kami: Manipulate PDFs with markup tools, comment features, text notes, drawings, and shapes. Freemium, DCPS's current vendor. 

Dualless: Easily split the browser windows on Chromebooks and adjust the ratio between windows. Free

EdPuzzle: This allows users to quickly start editing videos and embedding questions from YouTube videos. Freemium, DCPS's current vendor.

Emoji Keyboard: Help early or non-readers navigate through online assignments on platforms such as Google Classroom. Free
